Looking for new case

Postby [SoC]GHOST » Sun Jan 03, 2010 8:34 pm

WTB new full tower to house my gaming pc components. I was thinking about this http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6811233026 but it doesnt meet all the requirements I'm looking for.
Here is what I want:
1. HD bay needs to face side of case not back
2. Removable Motherboard tray
3. Front cover for drive bays, My current case has a door that conceals the front.
4. tooless
5. side window

I have found alot that come close but nothing meeting all my requirments. Oh and the most important of all, I cannot afford a 200 case.

First off...good luck with meeting those requirements and not spending $200...especially the removable mobo tray. Now in light of the fact that you want a full tower, the removable tray is rather pointless since you should have plenty of room to work in. My vote though it doesn't meet your requirements for front cover or removable tray is the HAF932. This is the case I use for my test setup and is quite honestly the easiest case that I have worked in and is great at cooling. To me its a bargain at the price of about $140.

Yeah, I guess I didn't think about the removable tray being neccessary on a full tower. I assume that is why I couldn't find any. I looked at that case, what concerned me was the plastic hold downs for the pci slots. I read the reviews and saw a few that said they break easy. It was one that I was considering tho.

Not sure how you define easy, but I've had hardware in and out of this case so many times I can't count and none have broken on mine. Even if they did there are still holes there for screws so you wouldn't exactly be screwed.

I initially liked that case, but all my stuff is in blue now. I guess color doesn't really matter, but it might look funny having read case and blue mobo. Maybe I will go with the blue colored coolermaster, although for some reason its more.

What are you, a woman? Who cares about color matched cases and boards, neons, etc... Do you use it to play games, or do you turn it on just to look at the pretty colors?

Take off the skirt and order the case already!

My computer is sort of a show piece. I don't have it on the floor, it sits on top of my computer desk, towering over me when I play. Plus my computer is in my living room, so everyone that comes over sees it. Just like you wouldn't want to have a black tv will all gray stereo components and wood grain speakers, it just looks tacky. I don't like rainbow colors like the sticker on the back of your car! In all actuallity, the board thats in it, is part blue, part orange and part yellow, so I guess it really doesn't matter now.

Actually the monkey is pretty much right. ATI drivers are just that easy to install. Unlike Nvidia that every install requires you to get the new one from the page and uninstall the old for a good load. ATI drivers and upgrades with their new method is pretty darn easy. And I have to admit, I really like my 4870.

I just don't understand why people complain about ATi drivers, I've never had issues with their drivers...now Nvidia is a whole different story. Dealing with drivers for my 9600GT and 8800GT are the reasons I went with an HD4890.
